Due to the nature of our four voice choir, we do require an informal audition before acceptance as a full member.
The objective of the audition is not to judge your singing voice, it is to know that you are comfortable and able to sing and hold your voice, whether that be soprano, alto, tenor or base against the other voices, who may be singing different melodies within a song. You are very welcome to come long, give it a go and sing with us at our practice evening using a visitor folder of music!
The audition is held after a general practice when the main members of the choir have left, so no audience present, and only when you are confident and ready to try. Your audition will be in the vocal section that you will be joining as well as one member from each of the other sections to sing along with you and make up the four voices.
The audition piece we use is called "The blessing of Aaron" and you can download a copy of the score HERE.
Also below are the practice notes for each vocal section so you can practice at home and take the audition only when YOU are ready.
Just click and download below for either Soprano, Alto Tenor or Bass part.
